Solenn reveals more of her many artistic flairs
In the earlier days of Philippine showbiz, an aspiring actor/actress could easily catch his or her break in the industry if he or she has a fair complexion, comes from a well-known clan of celebrities, or has the charisma that is sure to appeal to the masses. With the onset of various reality TV shows, talent searches, and social media sites on the internet, however, much is now expected of Filipino celebrity.
Solenn Heussaff may have gained popularity from being a runner up in the reality program Survivor Philippines, but she has continued to prove that her worth as an artist goes beyond just acting and smiling in front of the camera.
She may not have won the title of being the “ultimate Survivor,” but Filipino-French Solenn has proven to be more than just a pretty face when people from the entertainment industry began noticing different sides of her as an artist.
PEP Review: Boy Pick-Up the Movie
Produced by Regal Films and GMA Films, Boy Pick-Up: The Movie is the big-screen adaptation of the popular skit in Bubble Gang called Boy Pick-Up.
It stars Ogie Alcasid, Solenn Heussaff, Dennis Trillo, Eri Neeman, Sarah Lahbati, Sam Pinto, and Michael V., under the direction of Dominic Zapata.
In the Bubble Gang skit, Boy Pick-Up (Ogie Alcasid) is portrayed to be the man with the best pick-up lines, even though many of his lines are not funny and do not make sense. What makes Boy Pick-Up's lines work is massive hype, fueled by a certain Boy Back-Up (portrayed by Eri Neeman) and an all-too-willing crowd.
Moviegoers might be curious to see how the producers will turn a hype-filled skit into a full-length movie. As promised, the story does show the life of Boy Pick-Up outside the pick-up wars.
Solenn now endorser of Robinsons Land Corp.
Solenn Heussaff is the new celebrity endorser of Robinsons Land Corp. The Filipina-French actress was chosen not only because of her looks but also because she embodies the brand.
Solenn comes from a good family, her French father is a former French Navy Seal while her Filipino mother was a Bayanihan dancer. She is well-educated, having been schooled in Philippine and French institutions. She is fluent in English and French and speaks Filipino. She loves the arts and studied fashion design and makeup and cosmetic artistry in Paris.
Solenn is not someone who wakes up late, goes to a salon, shops, goes to the gym and attends parties in the evening. She is well-spoken and articulate. She and her family, which includes sister Vanessa and brother Erwan, love to travel. Solenn also has a good heart. The proceeds of her planned exhibit of paintings, which will feature celebrities as the subjects, will all go to the charity.
Best lines from 'Boy Pick-Up' movie
MANILA, Philippines - Out in theaters right now is “Boy Pick Up: The Movie,” which started as a sketch on the gag show "Bubble Gang."
In the movie, the struggling Boy (Ogie Alcasid) lands a job as a baker in Heaven's Bakeshop owned by his crush Angel (Solenn Heussaff).
But life for Boy takes a turn for the worse when Bagwis (Dennis Trillo) enters the picture after he is left at the altar by his supposed bride because of Boy.
Solenn in Eat Bulaga!
Solenn Heussaff proudly announces that she will be a guest co-host in Eat Bulaga this month.
“While still waiting for my next soap after Legacy, it’s nice that I’ll be a special co-host in EB. I think, it will be a month’s stint,” she says.
“I’ve hosted various events in the past but EB is different. As the number one noontime show in the land, you’ll get watched by millions of viewers every day. I’m just thrilled. Hope I will do well.”
She is also part of GMA Films’ upcoming release Boy Pik-up: The Movie with Ogie Alcasid and Michael V.
It appears that she’s already enjoying showbiz at this point.
“You can say that again. I admit that when I first entered it, I was just testing the waters, so to speak. But after meeting many good people and doing great projects, my perspective changed! I now treat it seriously. I love to be part of the business,” reveals Solenn.
She recently clinched a Best Supporting Actress nomination from the Urian for her work in Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.
“Honestly, I was really surprised when I learned about that. I couldn’t believe it. It came as a real surprise. Imagine, it was just my third film and they cited my performance. Knowing the taste of the critics, I’m proud and grateful at the same time.”
