RICHARD GUTIERREZ came early to the victory party of “My Valentine Girls”, along with parents Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez. Solenn Heussaff and Eugene Domingo came a bit later, but Rhian Ramos and Lovi Poe were no shows as they’re with their respective BFs, DJ Mo and Ronald Singson. Lovi wants to be there when the court passes judgment on the beleaguered congressman. Child star Jillian Ward also came with her toy poodle, a gift from Richard she calls Coco Barrameda, named after her manager Joe Barrameda. The dog is a bonafide scene-stealer even during the open forum. Jillian says she wants the dog to be with her in her next movie. “Magiging superdog siya na lumilipad,” she quips.

Annette Abrogar Gozon of GMA Films and Roselle Monteverde Teo of Regal both expressed their gratitude to the press for the film’s success.

“Exit interviews with those who just watched the film say they all enjoyed it and will recommend it to others kaya tuwang-tuwa kami,” says Roselle.

“We’re confident that because of the positive word of mouth endorsement, it will have long legs at the box office,” says Ms. Gozon. “As it is, the box office take of the second week is almost the same as the first week. Hindi bumaba, so that’s a good indication that lalakas pa ang movie as we still have 95 theaters on our second week.”

Richard and Solenn were later teased by the press when Solenn’s manager revealed he saw them dating watching “Burlesque” at Rockwell by themselves and they were holding hands all throughout. They refuse to say anything and just smiled about it.

Solenn Heussaff felt “weird” while watching herself on the big screen during the premiere of her debut film, My Valentine Girls, last February 8 at SM Megamall.

“Sobrang masaya ako and hopefully I get better,” she told members of the press who interviewed her after the screening.

After being paired with Richard Gutierrez in this co-production of GMA Films and Regal Entertainment, she says that she is slated to work with him again for GMA-7’s upcoming telefantasya, Captain Barbell.

“I’m very excited and a little nervous kasi mas maraming Tagalog lines,” she admits. “In Captain Barbell, I play a reporter. I’m in search of my parents kasi na-kidnap ang tatay ko nung bata ako.”

ANNE & ERWAN. Kapamilya star Anne Curtis has been more vocal about her relationship with Solenn’s brother, Erwan.

Solenn commented, “I’m very happy for them and I really love Anne, so they have my full support.”

According to Solenn, she wouldn’t have any problem if Anne becomes a part of their family someday.

What does she like most about Anne?

“Anne is very successful. She’s come a long way and she did it on her own. She’s very down-to-earth. She’s always smiling. I’ve never seen her in a bad mood in the four or five years that I’ve known her. She’s my number one pick.”

Is her brother Erwan entertaining thoughts about joining showbiz?

“No, he hates showbiz. He really loves Anne and he supports her but he’s never going to join showbiz.”

It’s that time of the year again when couples all over the world flex their romantic muscles! Call it a Hallmark holiday created for marketing purposes but, guess what? It matters and it’s relevant. Valentine’s Day is the one time of the year when you’re allowed to go all cheesy on your special someone without looking like a douche. So go on and get ready for a whole lot of lovin’.

Reel-life partners and stars of My Valentine Girls Richard Gutierrez and Solenn Heussaff are all set for the big day and dishes some tips on how to make the season of hearts extra special.

YOUNG STAR: Is Valentine’s Day something you prepare for?

SOLENN HEUSSAFF: Not really because every Valentine’s Day, I find myself single. So I tend to go with the flow. Let’s see what happens this year.

RICHARD GUTIERREZ: I always try and make Valentine’s Day a bit more special than a regular date. It’s the time of the year when you can test your romantic skills.

What turns you on?

SOLENN: A guy with confidence is always attractive — confident but not cocky. Someone funny, easy to talk to and who is passionate about something.

RICHARD: A woman who’s intelligent, who knows what she wants, speaks her mind and is drama-free. I also look at her taste in clothing, music and movies; someone who’s classy but can be a cowgirl when she needs to be.

You two seem to have great onscreen chemistry. Is that a natural thing or can it be manufactured?

SOLENN: It’s a natural thing because how we are in the movie is similar to how we are in real life.

RICHARD: It helped that we are friends, meaning we have no more inhibitions. We are very comfortable with each other and that transmits through the camera.

What did you discover about each other while making the film?

SOLENN: He’s very patient and he teaches me a lot. He helped me with my lines and made it as natural as possible for me. He’s quite the gentleman in that way.

RICHARD: I learned that Solenn is a natural actress. She seemed like a veteran! She picks up things quick and, as our director puts it, she’s raw. She’s like a blank canvas ready to be filled in.

When doing a make-out scene in front of strangers, is it choreographed or you just go for it?

SOLENN: We just went with the flow and what felt right. We had to take it seven times because of different camera angles.

RICHARD: There are some technicalities to it in terms of camera angles and proper framing. Sometimes you need to adjust your positioning. But when you kiss, you kiss. You go for it and you just make it as sweet as possible.

You’re both accomplished individually. What other goals have you set for yourself?

SOLENN: To be fluent in Tagalog by December and to learn how to cry in real life and in movies.

RICHARD: I always work on improving myself. Becoming stronger mentally, physically and spiritually — gain wisdom and find the perfect balance in life. I try to remain as positive as I can in all aspects.

What’s your all-time favorite love story?
SOLENN: The Notebook, to find that everlasting love which is rare nowadays.

RICHARD: Nothing beats the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet.

What would it get you to head toward the exit during a date?
SOLENN: Awkward silences and no flowing conversation.

RICHARD: If the girl keeps talking about materialistic things.

What’s the most romantic gift you’ve ever given?
SOLENN: A scrapbook full of memories: from plane tickets to our favorite places, quotes that we both love and memorable photos.

RICHARD: Looking back now, I’ve done the simple yet romantic gestures and I’ve done grand unforgettable gestures and I think what’s important is the experience that you will remember from it. So I’ll say when I surprised her with two plane tickets to a random place to just get lost together.

They say the way to a person’s heart is through his or her stomach. What dish would you prepare for each other?
SOLENN: My lechon sinigang. It doesn’t sound so romantic but I assure you it tastes very good and satisfying.

RICHARD: If I knew how to cook a well-prepared sinigang, I would. I know that’s her favorite Filipino dish.

What’s a place that you’ll definitely fall in love in?
SOLENN: I’d choose Paris but I lived there so I would go for Italy — the music, the food, and their culture. Just the overall vibe excites me.

RICHARD: Anywhere there’s a perfect view of the sunset, the ocean and clear skies. But Paris isn’t bad either.

What’s the worst pick-up line you’ve heard?
SOLENN: “My love for you is like diarrhea, I can’t hold it in.” It’s the worst ever!

RICHARD: I recently got this one: “I don’t usually remember names, but I remembered yours.”

If you only had P1,000 to make Valentine’s Day special, what would you do?
SOLENN: A DVD, some popcorn and a glass of white wine would complete the evening.

RICHARD: A road trip to the beach, pray for perfect weather and that’s all you

GMA Films/Regal Films’ “love-ful” offering, My Valentine Girls, features, if you may, four paradigms of “sexy” — Eugene Domingo, Solenn Heussaff, Rhian Ramos and Lovi Poe — as Richard Gutierrez’s leading ladies. The rom-com is a trilogy calculated at once to keep you in stitches and make you fall in love.
In the episode Gunaw, Eugene tries Richard to no avail that they have to procreate because they are the only survivors of a holocaust.
In Soulmates, Rhian as a fashion stylist falls in love with Richard as a ghost.

In BBFF, Solenn diverts the attention of Richard to her friend Lovi when he proposes to her, only to regret it.
Who among the four is the sexiest?
You decide from the following “sexy talk.”

What is sexy to you?:
Eugene: Someone oozing with confidence without being loud. A person comfortable with his sexuality and preference. A person who knows what he wants and gets it with pleasure.
Solenn: Someone is sexy when he exudes confidence.
Rhian: Sexy is when you are comfortable in your own skin.
Lovi: Having a fit body and a healthy lifestyle.

Name three sexy women.
Eugene: Solenn Heussaff — The lady can talk and when she sings, everybody is blown away! Lovi Poe — The face that takes your breath away; a talent that is worth watching out for in the years to come. This sexy lady is just starting and we can’t help but be awed. Rhian Ramos — sexy and fun! She has grown to be a sexy sweetheart before our very eyes.
Solenn: Lovi Poe, Eugene Domingo and Rhian Ramos.
Rhian: Solenn Heussaff. Lovi Poe. Eugene Domingo.
Lovi: Iza Calzado. Anne Curtis. Meagan Fox.

Name three sexy men.
Eugene: Richard Gutierrez — The height, almost perfect. The face…you can’t predict if it’s a boy ready for your games or a grown-up who has been through a lot of trials and ready to get wild. The body…built for a hero. This gentleman passes above sexy! Anytime, anywhere. Your ultimate leading man. Sam Milby — There is something funny about his face that makes him adorable, charming and sexy just by looking at you. His billboards for F&H make you smile and be cozy in the middle of traffic jungle. Robin Padilla — I will give it to this man. Isn’t he the sexiest? The scars which tell all about the country’s most famous romantic/action star and the man who was caught and was absent for years still triggers everything inside your sexy and naughty mind. Dares us all to be more desirable. That’s all!
Solenn: Richard Gutierrez. Tim Yap. Elmo Magalona. They are all hard-working people, genuine, successful and have gotten to where they are on their own.
Rhian: Richard Gutierrez. Mo Twister. Dick Gordon.
Lovi: Richard Gutierrez. Brad Pitt. Rocco Nacino.

What makes you feel sexy?
Eugene: Calmness. Certainty. Cleanliness. You think sexy, you feel sexy, you look sexy. I wake up, I look in the mirror, I take a shower, I dress up and I decide that I will be sexy today. Like happiness, sexiness for me is unfortunately not genetics; it’s a decision and a state of mind. Hahahahaha!
Solenn: When I’m sure of myself.
Rhian: Silence makes me feel sexy.
Lovi: Thinking of the man I love.

What qualities do you want in a man?
Eugene: A man is desirable when he is unassuming and down-to-earth, when he can clearly speak his mind. He’s sexy when he knows when to shut up to let his woman talk and have her way around.
Solenn: Someone with humor, smart, cultured and who can be both relaxed and crazy at times.
Rhian: Humor, confidence and honesty.
Lovi: A nice smile.

Sexiest sound (musical instrument).
Eugene: It could be any instrument except the xylophone. But with any of my sexiest men playing, I could give it a chance.
Solenn: The saxophone. It’s soothing.
Rhian: Percussion instruments.
Lovi: Piano and violin.

Sexiest book.
Eugene: The way Japanese author Haruki Murakami wrote Norwegian Wood gave me the feeling of nostalgia. Wikipedia says it’s a novel about loss and sexuality. It’s a touch-and-go encounter of the characters with a lot of sexual touches. Highly dramatic and poetic as well.
Solenn: Too many to name just one.
Rhian: Any by Sidney Sheldon.
Lovi: Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell.

Sexiest song.
Eugene: Any chill-out song, like the one I’m listening to while doing this “sexy talk.” One look, one touch, words just don’t say enough. When you fall in love, suddenly, suddenly it’s magic!
Solenn: Fever. It’s a powerful song.
Rhian: Impossible to pick just one. Yes, Foxy Lady by Jimi Hendrix and Hard To Concentrate by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Lovi: Sexuality by Rihanna.

Sexiest food.
Eugene: Anything with wine. And a buffet of delicious topics. A lot of talking, laughing and feeling!
Solenn: Steak.
Rhian: Chocolate, definitely!
Lovi: Grapes and strawberries.

Sexiest car.
Eugene: SUV, pick-up truck, motorbike. Or, if there should be no gas, a horse.
Solenn: Aston Martin Vanquish.
Rhian: Jaguars because they are like cats.
Lovi: Pink Cadillac.

Sexiest part of your body.
Eugene: My mouth. It does a lot….of talking!
Solenn: Legs.
Rhian: My neck.
Lovi: My waistline.

Sexiest part of a man’s body.
Eugene: Any part of his body that touches any part of me.
Solenn: Neck.
Rhian: Back and shoulders.
Lovi: Chest.

Sexiest billboard.
Eugene: Richard Gutierrez’s billboard, of course!
Solenn: Guess billboards.
Rhian: Belo billboards.
Lovi: My Bench Body billboard.

Sexiest face.
Eugene: Mine. Hahahahaha. (Gusto ko lang).
Solenn: Anne Curtis.
Rhian: Iza Calzado. Fo Shizzle.
Lovi: Solenn Heussaff.

Sexiest clothes.
Eugene: For me, the sensational slide with matching “Hello!”
For guys, anything that says, “I’m clean and I’m cool.” Rock and roll!
Solenn: Loose white shirt.
Rhian: The ones that I make for myself. Hehehehe!
Lovi: Pajamas, swimsuit and two-piece bikini.

Sexiest perfume.
Eugene: Just a mild fresh-from-the-shower scent. Makes me want to hug and stay there for a while.
Solenn: CK.
Rhian: Clean, fresh laundry.
Lovi: Hermes.

Sexiest time of day.
Eugene: Anytime. Surprise me.
Solenn: Whenever I feel sexy. Hahahaha!
Rhian: Dusk.
Lovi: Morning when you wake up to each other.

Sexiest part of the house.
Eugene: Lights fading out. ANYWHERE!!!
Solenn: Bedroom.
Rhian: Kitchen.
Lovi: Bedroom.

Sexiest TV show.
Eugene: Moonlighting, the TV series in the ‘80s with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. Both played detectives and naturally there was attraction. The sexual tension arises in every episode. Script is funny and witty!
Solenn: Sex and The City.
Rhian: Gossip Girl.
Lovi: Friends.

Sexiest scene she has ever seen in a movie.
Eugene: Lots! Well, any scene where two characters just stare at each other lovingly and end up kissing passionately.
Solenn: The scene in “Women On Top” showing Penelope Cruz cooking food.
Rhian: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie dancing while exchanging sticky glances at each other in Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Lovi: Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore making jars out of clay in Ghost.

Sexiest scene she has ever done.
Eugene: Seryoso?!! Fire-dancing like a goddess in Gunaw. Pasabog!
Solenn: None so far.
Rhian: Still to happen.
Lovi: My kissing scenes with Richard in My Valentine Girls.

Sexiest fantasy.
Eugene: In the shower. In the tub. And the strong arms of a man caressing my silky smooth back. Woot! Woot!
Solenn: To kiss in the Himalayas.
Rhian: Being stranded in Palawan.
Lovi: To kiss someone.

Sexiest thing she has ever done to herself.
Eugene: When my fantasy became a reality. Woot! Woot! Hahahahaha!
Solenn: Joined Survivor because I proved to myself that I could do more than I thought I could and showed everybody that when I wanted something, I’d get it no matter what got in my way.
Rhian: Decided to work out.
Lovi: I won’t tell.

Sexiest thing she has ever done to or with a man.
Eugene: Under the sun, by the pool, and the strong arms of a man caressing my silky smooth back. This is the life! Ohhh!!! Cut!!!
Solenn: Secret! X-rated, eh. Hahahahaha! Charrot!
Rhian: Convoy. What??? I didn’t know how to drive; I was trying to learn.
Lovi: I won’t tell din.

"Siguro nga, 'yong sa amin ni Solenn, I think, is one of my longest kissing scenes.

And gusto ni Direk Andoy Ranay 'yong moment. So, marami siyang different angles.

"Siguro 'yon nga, dahil marami ring nag-aabang sa kissing scene namin ni Solenn. So, we try to make it as perfect as possible."

BRIGHT FUTURE FOR SOLENN.

"Kapag may mga eksena siya, especially mga emotional scenes, I'm willing naman to help her, even Direk Andoy. What's important with Solenn is that she wants to do well and she wants to do a good job."

"I think she has a bright future," sabi niya. "First day pa lang niya, first scene pa lang ni Solenn, she was very natural.

"Ang maganda sa kanya, wala siyang inhibitions. Parang natural lang 'yong acting niya."

Patuloy pa niya, "Sabi nga ni Direk Andoy, she's very raw, 'yong hindi nag-e-effort. 'Yon ang parang gusto ni Direk Andoy sa kanya, na parang very natural and very candid ang feel.

"And what's important is that Solenn wants to learn and she wants to become good. And every person who's inspired to do good and they put their heart and mind to something, I think they can achieve their goals."

"I'M ENJOYING MY SINGLE LIFE."

Ayon kay Richard, "We're still both single, kami ni Solenn, and we're just having fun. We're taking our time.

"I mean, we don't want to ano, just because people want us to jump into something. Di ba, parang ang hirap namang gumawa ng major decisions because people are telling us.

"We're just taking our time, we're single. We're having fun and we go out. I think that's what's important for now—that we're having fun, we're smiling, and we're not putting pressure on ourselves. So, dito na muna tayo."

Aniya, "As of now, naka-focus ako sa trabaho ko. Ang dami kong projects na I have to focus on."

Sabi kasi ni Solenn, baka maging different ang Valentine niya this year. May something ba sila together?

“Of course, magkakasama kami sa Valentine dahil sa movie.

‘Yun muna ang objective namin,” matipid na sagot ni Chard.

Hindi pa ba sila na-develop sa isa’t isa?

“We’re always asked about this question everytime there’s someone in front of us. We always answer the same. So…” sey ni Chard.

Eh, iba ang sagot ni Solenn?

“What did you say?” tanong ni Chard kay Solenn.

“We’re friends. We’re friends!”

“Let’s see! If everybody stops asking! May expectation talaga,” ani Richard.

“Never say never!”

Richard Gutierrez once again stars in GMA Films and Regal Films' Valentine offering this year, My Valentine Girls.
In a recent interview with Showbiz Central, Richard was all praises for one of his leading ladies in the film—2010 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Best Supporting Actress Eugene Domingo.
"Si Uge ay isa sa mga leading ladies ko dito. And I'm very excited. Dahil nga, so far so good ang mga eksena namin.
"Alam naman natin na siya yung this generation's comic queen, di ba? I'm happy to be working with her," said the matinee idol.

SOLENN HEUSSAFF. For My Valentine Girls, Eugene is in the same league as Richard's bevy of lovely leading ladies that include Rhian Ramos, Lovie Poe, and Solenn Heusaff. The latter is now being romantically linked to the popular actor.
Richard disclosed to Showbiz Central that a lot of fans have requested that he be paired with Solenn.
He added, "I've seen her [Solenn] act and she's actually good."

On the other hand, Solenn remarked, "I'm happy doing this movie with him...at least he [Richard] can teach me. Tapos, if I have mistakes, he is always like telling me to slow down with your lines...
"This is my first movie anyway. It's good to be working with someone that you know well."
The Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown castaway added, "Wala siyang attitude. He's helping me a lot.
"There will be a lot of moments you will be very kilig for sure. And, yes, may love triangle. So you have to watch this."
