2011 was a very good year for Solenn Heussaff. This French-Filipina ‘multi-slashie” had filled up schedules for her endorsements and very successful TV shows like Captain Barbell, Party Pilipinas and Fashbook plus movies such as “Temptation Island” “My Valentine Girls” and most recently, “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, a hit entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival. It was also this year that she signed the coveted record deal with MCA Music and released her self-titled album which is presented by Antonov Vodka and featured the hit singles “Fire” and “It’s Our First Time”. The album entered the charts of top music retailers like Odyssey and Astroplus.

MANILA, Philippines – It has one unabashed goal: to make viewers cry.

In “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” that had its premiere on Dec. 20 at SM Megamall, the characters in the story find their lives and relationships with loved ones unravel following a massive earthquake that hit the metro. Priorities are questioned, the past is dredged up, dark secrets are revealed…it’s a chaotic Christmas if these were happening in the here and now.

The only straight-on drama in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the Regal Multimedia, Inc.’s entry is a chokful of conflicts that seem to have no resolution, or at least ones that would’ve turned this movie into a predictable one. It’s not all happy ending (define ‘happy?’) except, perhaps, for drama fans who are treated to one highlight scene after another as only the stellar and awarded cast members can provide. This Jun Lana-helmed opus will have some people thinking, “I’m so glad my life isn’t as complicated as theirs” or as Bono growled in “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”: “Well, tonight thank God it’s them instead of you!”

MANILA, Philippines - Paulo Avelino has a love scene in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow with a woman considered to be every man’s fantasy. And while he was preparing for the scene, he admitted that he really got nervous.

“I’ve had love scenes before, but not as intense and as revealing as this one,” explained Paulo. “And it was my first intimate scene with Solenn Heussaff. I guess the thought of it will make any man nervous.”

Paulo shared that Solenn is one of his showbiz crushes, and that made him even more uneasy.

Goodluck girl!

SOLENN HEUSSAFF signed a three-pic contract with Regal at the start of 2011. She has done all of them: “Valentine Girls”, “Temptation Island” and the filmfest entry, “Yesterday Today Tomorrow”. “We’ll sign her up for a new contract in 2012,” says Mother Lily. “We want to make her a new movie right away na iba naman mga kasama niya as we believe she’ll be very big next year.”

The funny Solenn said her first reaction when she learned she’d be part of the cast of “Yesterday Today Tomorrow” is: “Bakit ako nasama diyan?” She says just one look at the poster and you’d know she’s one inexperienced actor compared to the likes of Maricel Soriano, Agot Isidro, Lovi Poe, Gabby Concepcion, Jericho Rosales and Dennis Trillo. “So doing the movie is a big pressure for me as this is also my first serious drama. Buti na lang, most of my lines are in English or Taglish and not straight Tagalog, kundi lagot ako.”

Philippine entertainment industry’s prettiest faces were spotted in the re-opening of Salvatore Ferragamo’s store at Greenbelt 4 Mall last December 8. The store’s re-launching was transformed into a star-studded event with Anne Curtis, Sam Pinto, Solenn Heussaff, and Liz Uy joining the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
